A Letter from the President I hope this email finds you well! Fall is here and one of our favorite events is the Bank of America Chicago Marathon! Since 2007, LSI has had a team in the event. This year, over 40 of the over 50,000 runners will be honoring LSI. The Lupus Charity Runners are a team that raises funds for and awareness about lupus. We are honored by their hard work and dedication. On race day, October 12th this year, thousands come out to cheer on runners - and LSI will be there around mile 14. If you want to be a part of this inspiring event, please join us. Volunteers are welcome. Please contact mary@lupusil.org if you are interested. Also coming up this month is the LSI team in the GSU Jaguar 5K at Governors State University. this is the second year we are collaborating with GSU and we are excited to see what's in store this year. LSI runners get a special $10 discount. Similar to the LSI walks, registered participants receive a t-shirt and giveaways on race day. There are special prizes and contests for registered participants too. Register today, and don't forget to use the discount code: lupusil. Also coming up, the lupus warrior Dr. LaShon Gurrola DHA, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC and Dion Langley, independent drummer, advocate and President/CEO of #BeatLupusLLC will be presenting the 4th in their Music and Medicine series. The event is livestreamed on November 6th. There is a lot going on at the LSI. If you aren't signed up for our Social Media accounts, now's the time. We're increasing and diversifying our content.
