Congratulations to all the Lupus Charity Runners who participated in the
2022 Bank of America Chicago Marathon!  If you ever want to feel inspired, spend time at the LSI's Cheer Tent on race day.  We're honored by our runners who raise awareness and funds for lupus.

If you've ever wanted to run a marathon, look into Lupus Charity Runners.  We have guaranteed spots for the 2023 Chicago Marathon. We have a great program.  Find out more here.

This Saturday, LSI is proud to partner with Kathleen & David Arntsen from the Lupus & Allied Diseases Association on the Enhancing Lives by Empowering the Lupus Community Chicago Education Symposium & Luncheon.

This event will feature presentations from LSI's Board Chair, Dr. Robert Katz, as well as presentations from Kathleen Arntsen "The Power of Advocacy: Promoting Participation to Improve Care and Advance Research" and David Arntsen "Care Partner Perspectives: I Love Someone with Lupus."

This event is for anyone with lupus and anyone who cares about someone with lupus.

We have another webinar coming up November 10, 2022.  Lupus & Fibromyalgia will be presented by Dr. Alexandra Katz -Small.  Registration is required for access information.

And our final event of the year is our annual Rush Lupus Clinic & LSI Educational event.  This is another year of outstanding presentations and the panel discussion with the Rush Lupus Doctors.

We hope you'll make it to all of our upcoming activities.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT THE NEW STUDY TITLED: “ANTI-CD19 CAR T CELL THERAPY FOR REFRACTORY SYSTEMIC LUPUS ERYTHEMATOSUS”.

Lupus & Fibromyalgia
Thursday, November 10, 2022
Presented by Dr. Alexandra Katz Small

Fibromyalgia is a disorder that can occur alone or secondary to connective tissue disorders such as lupus. Studies suggest that about 25% of people who have lupus also have fibromyalgia.  It is important for people who have lupus to learn about fibromyalgia because symptoms of both conditions can be similar, but the treatments are different.

RESEARCH OPPORTUNITIES

Fatigue & Lupus

A major problem for people living with lupus is fatigue – chronic debilitating fatigue that significantly decreases quality of life and increases the risk of work disability.

How does someone manage fatigue?  Finding strategies that work for you and for lupus patients in general is the purpose of the Lupus Intervention Fatigue Trial (LIFT).
