A Letter from the President I hope this email finds you well! LSI is excited to share that this year's Lupus Walk Ambassador is Olive Wassen! Olive is a lupus warrior, LSI Associate Board member, Western Suburbs Walk Committee member, an all-around lupus awareness educator! Read more about Olive and her commitment to the Lupus Walk here. The Western Suburbs Walk is a week from Saturday and planning is in full Swing! This year's event is August 9th in Naperville and you definitely don't want to miss it! We have your favorites from years past, like the team t-shirt contest, DJ Rick, Kid's activities (to name a few) AND we have new sponsors - Walgreen's will be there and we have Red Bull to give away as well. There's also a contest going on, the walker raising the greatest number of donations between July 28th and August 8th wins a $100 Visa gift card! This is a great way to educate more people about lupus - the more people you invite to donate to your walk team, the more people will know about lupus. If you haven't registered for the Lupus Walk, now is the time! t's a win-win for everyone! Funds raised at the walk go directly towards providing services at no cost to those in need, including educational events, like the upcoming Spanish Language Webinar on September 18, 2025. Events like this are so important and only possible thanks to your support of the Lupus Walk. LSI is happy to partner with Governors State University this fall on their Jaguar Run! LSI runners get a special $10 discount. Similar to the LSI walks, registered participants receive a t-shirt and giveaways on race day. There are special prizes and contests for registered participants too. Register today, and don't forget to use the discount code: lupusil. There is a lot going on at the LSI. If you aren't signed up for our Social Media accounts, now's the time. We're increasing and diversifying our content. Check it out and be sure to LIKE and SHARE the content to increase lupus awareness. We look forward to seeing at you at our Illinois Lupus Walk! Together, we make a difference. Mary |
