Dear Friend,

I’m retiring. Yes, I know I’ve said that before, but this time it’s for real.

It has been an incredible honor and privilege to work with the Lupus Society of Illinois (LSI) for the past 15 years. When I came out of retirement to join LSI, I had no idea how profoundly it would impact me to become a part of the lupus community—our community.

Together, we’ve made a difference.

We’ve provided educational events to raise awareness about new lupus treatments—an achievement that feels nothing short of miraculous when I think back to the days when there were so few FDA-approved treatments for lupus.

Together, we’ve made research possible. A portion of every donation you make goes directly toward funding vital lupus research that has the potential to change lives.

Together, we’ve walked to raise awareness about lupus and directly fund the programs that support those affected by it.

And together, we’ve fought for education, research, and support for the lupus community. While I may be retiring from my position, I want you to know that I will always remain a part of this community. My heart will still be with LSI as we continue the fight.

I’m excited to share that Mary and Lisa will carry on the work toward achieving LSI’s mission here in Illinois, which is simple yet profound: to support the lupus community and its needs.

Thank you for making my time with LSI the most rewarding work I’ve ever done.

Together, we’ve accomplished so much, and I have no doubt that we will continue to make a difference.

I plan to continue to support the LSI - I hope we can count on your support as well.

With gratitude,

Charles Brummell
