A Letter from the President

I hope this email finds you well and safe during the ongoing COVID-19 crisis.

Get ready for the last educational event of 2020!  The 4th annual Rush Lupus Clinic & LSI Patient Education event is coming up on Saturday, December 5, 2020.  The event is virtual this year but otherwise the format is the same.  We have listed the topics below.  We hope you can join us!  Registration is FREE and required.

LSI is only able to provide educational events for FREE thanks to the generosity of YOU!  If you donated to LSI or participated in the Virtual Lupus Walk, then YOU are making these activities possible!

The Virtual Lupus Walks have come to a close but we have some great videos we prepared for the day. You can take a look at all of them on our YouTube channel here or check out some of the videos below.

RESEARCH OPPORTUNITIES

Fatigue & Lupus Study

A major problem for people living with lupus is fatigue – chronic debilitating fatigue that significantly decreases quality of life and increases the risk of work disability.

How does someone manage fatigue?  Finding strategies that work for you and for lupus patients in general is the purpose of the Lupus Intervention Fatigue Trial (LIFT).

STUDY OF OMEGA-3 REPLACEMENT WITH KRILL OIL IN TREATMENT OF SYSTEMIC LUPUS ERYTHEMATOSUS

The study is a 24 week randomized, double-blind controlled multicenter study followed by an open label extension treatment for another 24 weeks. The purpose of this study is to determine whether the correction of the omega-3 deficiency may reduce disease activity in SLE patients.
