Friend,

I hope you are enjoying summer - it is hard to believe that we are inching closer and closer to autumn! LSI has had a busy summer - preparing for the Lupus Walks coming up in Naperville and Chicago.

This year, we are also working with a group of volunteers on the Inaugural Debbie Medlin Memorial Golf Outing.  Debbie Medlin was a wife, mother, sister, best friend, educator and mentor.  She lost her battle with lupus on November 9, 2017.  This event honors Debbie’s memory and is a testament to her lasting legacy of courage, kindness, giving, sharing, thoughtfulness and inspiration.  Funds raised through this event will go towards supporting the Illinois lupus community and increasing awareness about lupus.

You can find out more about the event and purchase tickets here.  If you'd like to join the committee, please contact me at your earliest convenience.

Events like our Illinois Lupus Walks and the Debbie Medlin Memorial Golf Outing help make the activities you'll read about below possible.  Our educational opportunities, financial assistance and awareness activities are only available thanks to the success of these events.  We hope to see you soon!

Together we make a difference.

He will transition to working at Mt Sinai and Holy Cross.   As a native Spanish speaker, He has a special interest in the Spanish-speaking community and their unique needs. His main interests lie in clinical rheumatology and in working with underserved populations.
