Since 2001, Illinois Lupus Walks have gathered the lupus community to unify our voices, increase public awareness about lupus and generate support for those who suffer from its potentially devastating challenges.
Due to COVID-19, we are changing our live walks to virtual walks and as a result, we are getting creative in how we define "community". We hope you will join us on this new and exciting journey!

Register! Walk as an individual, join a team or create a team! Invite family and friends to join you! Every registered walker receives an official 2020 Illinois Lupus walk t-shirt!
Fundraise! Create a personal fundraising page and win AWESOME incentive prizes!
Walk! Walk all at once or break it up! Walk safely with a friend or walk on your own! Wear your LUPUS WALK T-SHIRT and share pictures and stories!
How Do I Virtually Walk for Lupus?
When: August 1 to August 31, 2020!
Walk where you are: Walk wherever you would like for as long as you like!
Walk when you want, where you want: Walk every day, once a week or once during the month of August!
Walk fast or slow: Speed walk on a track or stroll through your neighborhood!
Register and get an official T-shirt: Register and receive an official 2020 Virtual Lupus Walk t-shirt as well as your own fundraising page!
Start a team: Invite family and friends to register on your team and qualify for team incentive prizes!
Individual and team incentives: Individual fundraising incentive prizes begin at $100 raised! | Team fundraising incentive prizes begin at $2,500 raised!
Celebrate: Join the virtual party with DJ RICK on Saturday, September 5, 2020!

Team Captains are leaders (like you!) who mobilize friends and family and rally for the cause. Teams are the heart and soul of our walks and are more important now than ever before!
Team Captain Prizes!
- Teams raising $2,500+ will win a Top Team T-Shirt for the Team Captain!
- Teams raising $5,000+ will win tickets for their team to the Top Team Virtual Party!
- Teams raising $7,500+ will win their own Team Virtual Party!

Walkers are supporters (like you!) who share your voice with the lupus community and educate the public about lupus. Walkers are the breath of our walks and are more important now than ever before!
Individual Participant Prizes!
- Individuals raising $100+ will receive an LSI Tote!
- Individuals raising $300+ will receive an LSI Water Bottle!
- Individuals raising $600+ will receive an LSI Bluetooth Speaker!
- Individuals riasing $1,000+ will receive an LSI Hooded Windbreaker!
Individual Contests!
- Share an Lupus Walk story! The story can be from this year’s Virtual Lupus Walk or any Illinois Lupus Walk from the past 20 years! Email the story to info@lupusil.org or post it to social media with #LSILupusWalkStories and you'll be entered to win!
- Share your personal lupus story on your fundraising page! Then post the link to social media with #IWalkforLupus! You’ll be entered to win!
- Share your favorite (Vintage) Lupus Walk Photo! Post your favorite picture from a past Illinois Lupus Walk or from this year’s Virtual Lupus Walk here with #LSIVirtualLupusWalk. You’ll be entered to win!
- Share a picture of your "I'm Walking For" sticker! Complete the "I'm Walking For" sticker and post a picture to social media with #LSIWalkingForLupus . You'll be entered to win!
- Lupus Awareness Safety Face Mask Contest! Submit a photo or video of you using the safety face masks to raise awareness about lupus! Post your photo or video to social media with #LSIAwarenessFaceMask.
