Lupus Awareness Celebration

The Lupus Society of Illinois will often partner with other lupus organizations for awareness and educational purposes.  Our purpose is always to move our mission forward.  Such is the case with the following lupus awareness opportunity.

Balloon Release!

Last year, Bettie Carter, LSI volunteer and Health Coordinator for the Living Life with Lupus Support Group NFP had a World Lupus Day proclamation signed by Mayor Rahm Emanuel.  We're helping Bettie celebrate this achievement at Chicago's Buckingham Fountain on Thursday, May 10, 2018 - also known as World Lupus Day!  Bettie and her group were also able to get the Blue Cross Blue Shield building light up the words "End Lupus."

There will also be a balloon release in honor of the lupus patients and survivors.  The balloon release will be at 7:30pm.  We are asked to bring 2 balloons for the release.

Northern Suburbs Walk HUGE Success!

Lupus Awareness Month is the time of year when the lupus community takes time to educate their families, workplaces and neighborhoods about lupus.  Education can be as modest as sending an email to your friends and family about lupus to organizing a Lupus Awareness Day at your office.  We encourage you to get creative as you raise awareness about this often misunderstood disease.

We receive 10% of all buffet purchases.    
Raffles for gift baskets!   

Raffle tickets will be sold for donated gift baskets.   There will be a few silent auction items for autographs and other items as well.  Silent Auctions will close and raffles will be picked at 8:30 PM.   Winners do not need to be present to win.  *  Please contact Mike Rakoczy at mrakoczy@nlsd122.org or (815) 462-7997 if you would like to make a cash donation, donate a gift basket, or donate a gift card to be raffled off.
